Charity Art for Special Olympics Thailand by Hong Kong Artists
Dr. Naris Chaiyasoot, Chairman of
Special Olympics Thailand, has unveiled an inspiring event that promises to
make a significant impact on the lives of Thai athletes with intellectual
disabilities. Titled "Charity Art for Special Olympics Thailand by Hong
Kong Artists," this event is a heartwarming collaboration between leading
artists from Hong Kong's Art Infinity Studio and Special Olympics Thailand.
Set to take place at the prestigious
Bangkok Art & Culture Centre (BACC) from October 27th to 29th, 2023, this
event will showcase 30 masterful artworks by top Hong Kong artists. Notably,
Mr. Owen Wong, also known as Wong Kai Wai, one of the world's Top Ten modern
artists and Mr. Tai U Sin, Master of Fine Arts whose works have been sought by
international art collectors, will lead the delegation of artists traveling to
Thailand. Joining him are renowned artists such as Dr.
Chan Kwai Ying, Ms. Karen Chung,
Ms. Esther Lo, Ms. Lean
Ta, Ms. Christo Chew and Ms.
Jessica Kwok.
The event comprises two key programs:
1. **Art Exhibition (Public Viewing)** From October 27th to 29th, the BACC's 5th
floor will host a spectacular art exhibition open to the public. On Saturday,
October 28th, there will be a special Opening Ceremony and Presentation,
presided by Somdet Phramaharajamongkolmunee (Thongchai), who will not only
witness the artistic creations, but will also engage in showcasing works by
water colour artist Sompote Singthong, the stories of Special Olympics Thailand
through artworks created by Thai Special Olympics athletes and GMMTV artists,
Earth and Dew, with appearance of Louis Thanawin and Ohm Pawat.
Discerning art collectors will have the opportunity to select
and purchase artworks. In addition, beautiful commemorative shirts featuring
design of the Hong Kong artists' combined artworks which include the Narayana
on Garuda emblem will be on sale to all visitors. These shirts will be personally
endorsed by Somdet Phramaharajamongkolmunee himself and guests will be invited
to take individual photos with the venerable monk during the event. All
proceeds support Special Olympics Thailand program and all donations are tax
deductible.
2. **High Tea on Sunday October 29th, 13:00-16:00 hrs.
** The Charity Art program culminates
in a High Tea Reception and Art Auction at the Arnoma Grand Hotel, led by
Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, a member of the International Olympic Committee
and President of the Badminton Association of Thailand. For generous donors,
this event offers a chance not only to own artworks by renowned artists, but
also to benefit from tax deductions.
Finally, Dr. Naris Chaiyasoot
emphasizes the immense value of the carefully selected artworks on display. He
invites the public and art enthusiasts to admire these creative works, become
their proud owners, and, most importantly, contribute to the well-being of
adults and children with intellectual disabilities. The act of giving to this noble
cause will directly impact the intellectually disabled community, reflecting
the spirit of compassion and promote social inclusivity in Thai society.
